| The Nova Scotia Museum of Industry interprets, preserves and
collects the industrial heritage of the province. It was built on the
site of the Foord Pit of the Albion mines, the first major coal mine in
Nova Scotia. The site itself contains a number of rich archaeological
sites such as the first major foundry in the province.
The permanent exhibition features displays of past, present and
future Nova Scotian industries. It explains industrial technology,
history of the worker, and the worker's family and community.
The collection includes some 14,000 artifacts and display are interactive.
