Westville Canada Days
Westville is home to the largest community birthday party for Canada around! Thousands come each year to enjoy the week long festivities including music, BBQ, Queen Pageant, Sporting events, Rides and Amusements, Giant street parade, and a climactic fireworks display! 2007 brought the 100th Anniversary of Westville's Canada Day Celebrations. The event is sponsored by the Westville Firefighters Club. Come celebrate Canada like never before!

Trenton FunFest
Our town's current annual festival, Trenton FunFest, was founded in 1989 following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Centennial Days, formed in 1981. Trenton funfest has developed into a program featuring something for everyone.

Stellarton Homecoming Days
This is the time when former residents of Stellarton flock to their home community for the annual Stellarton Homecoming. Music on the streets, buskers and dancing attract thousands of visitors “home”. Other events include concerts in the park, the mayor’s garden party and a kids’ day.

River John Festival Days
The festival includes a variety of activities for both the young and the old. It all begins with the children's parade and includes fiddling contests, pipe band, entertainment almost every evening, lobster supper, breakfasts and much more. The giant street parade takes place on the last day and marks the end of the week long festival.

Race on the River
Pictou County Dragon Boat Festival. These festivals provide opportunities to introduce the sport of dragon boat racing to hundreds of people while at the same time raising funds for individual charities. The Dragon Boat Festival promotes athleticism, teamwork, competition and good, old-fashioned fun. The best thing about it is that any skill level can quickly adapt to the sport. Pictou North Colchester Exhibition
The largest agricultural show in the region. Music and rides round out the displays and one of the few sheep dog trials in the province are hosted here. Many horse entries go on to the prestigious Toronto Royal Winter Fair. Queen of the pageant and local talent show round out the exhibition’s activities.

Pictou Lobster Carnival
Started in 1934, the Pictou Lobster Carnival has become a signature event in Nova Scotia. This four-day festival celebrates the end of the fishing season in the area, maritime culture and music. The event features musical performances at the Main Stage, Beer Garden, Mardi Gras Parade, Antique Car Show, Derby Races, Boat Races, Mid-Way, and many other activities for the whole family.

New Scotland Days
18th Century Life - Bagpipes - Re-enactors - The Art of Wooden Boat Building. Taking place on the anniversary of the arrival of the Ship Hector and in recognition of that vessel's role in making Pictou the Birthplace of New Scotland, the New Scotland Days Living Heritage Festival is a community celebration of the pioneer spirit that shaped Pictou County and Nova Scotia. New Glasgow Jubilee Music Festival
The Jubilee is a celebration of music that takes place in downtown New Glasgow providing the picturesque East River as the backdrop of the stage. Hector Festival
Celebration of our Celtic music and heritage. Features re-enactment of the first landing of Scottish settlers to Pictou who in 1773 rowed ashore from the ship "Hector". Celtic displays of heritage, multiple musical concerts, pipe bands, Ceilidh, Highland dance competition and more.

Festival of the Tartans
The Highland Spirit will be evident as the roots and traditions of our Scottish ancestors are recognized through traditional Highland games during New Glasgow’s Festival of the Tartans. Come expecting to see some of the world’s champion highland dancers perform as many title holders are from northeastern Nova Scotia. Pipebands from across the region have also excelled internationally and are sure to include the Festival of the Tartans as part of their performance circuit. There is also the Kilted Golf Tournament at Linacy Greens.
